Mommy and Daddy Escape to the Pineapple Isle

We left our little angel behind with her Toots and Aunties and took a romantic vacation to the third smallest Hawaiian island, Lanai.  It's only 18 miles by 13 miles and  has just 30 miles of paved road!

It was a wonderful vacation; we had an opportunity to unwind and refresh.  The hotel was amazing, we were up in the mountains and it was actually a bit chilly!  There were huge fireplaces inside and out and it was the perfect place to cuddle up.

There were three croquet lawns, and Chris beat me on every one!  I did and take him in Bocce, though!

We had some delicious stress-free dinners, finished a few bottles of wine, and had some wonderful conversations.

In addition to the relaxing, I was able to squeeze in tons of adventure.  We went on some awesome trail runs.

We packed a picnic and mountain biked to Kaiolohia (Shipwreck beach).  There was an actual ship about 200 meters offshore--it looked like a movie set!  The ten miles downhill were fun, they way back up was a challenge!

We explored tiny Lanai city, complete with 15 shops and about 3,000 people.  The homes and shops  are all quaint Hawaiian style wooden houses.

We snorkeled in Hulopo'e Bay and saw the most beautiful coral and tons of fish.

We also hiked up to Pu'upe'he (sweetheart rock) which was a fabulous cliff that had broken off into the ocean.

I'm on the cliff here!

Off course, Chris had to throw rocks off the top.

My attempts were nothing to celebrate.

It was a perfect get-away, and at the end of our four days we were eager to fly back home to our little Hazelbot!
