Daddy Time!

We lost our family camera a few weeks ago and I was devastated. Every day I felt like I was missing out on precious moments (the actual life moments, not the creepy figurines). So I broke down and bought a new one. These are the inaugural shots from Family Camera Version 2.0:

Here's my little sweetie watching her Daddy videos while laying on her Daddy Rabbit. Look at how she's holding his ear!

Stairmaster

In the middle of cleaning up the bowl of dog water that Hazel dumped all over my parents kitchen, I realized that the little monkey was no longer in sight. After a
brief moment of panic and a quick sweep of the area, I found Hazel six stairs up
my parents back staircase! I have no idea how she would have learned to climb
stairs (we don't even have stairs)! Well, I wasn't about to stifle her lofty
aspirations, so with some assistance from Auntie KB, she ascended the entire big
staircase!
I can't believe the amount of energy she has! What a crazy little girl!

Crawlbot!

Soy Big!

So I was cooking the other night and somebody decided to help when I wasn't looking.  Too bad the recipe didn't call for a gallon of soy sauce on the floor!

Caught!

I caught my little stinker tearing through our bookshelf yesterday!  At least she likes to read!

Happy Mother's Day!

"Kelly, it's time to wake uuuuuuuuup!"  I would curse as the sing-song call grew louder and louder.  Just before she popped into my room I would jump out of bed and scramble to find some clean clothes. She was my alarm clock for 18 years.  I have never found one that's more dependable.

The entire time I never really appreciated the amount of love and hard work that went into her morning reveille.  I completely overlooked the fact that fresh clean clothes arrived in our rooms almost daily.  I never realized how much went into the notes we found in our backpacks before big tests or races.  Nor did I understand the unwavering support as I glanced up into the stands to see her still in her work clothes cheering me on during races.

It really took Hazel's arrival for me to clue in to this amazing woman that has been with me all my life.  The responsibility of motherhood seems overwhelming at times;  I can't believe I am charged with safeguarding and guiding my little angel to adulthood.  I don't know how my Mom could possibly have tackled this seemingly insurmountable goal with her tenacity and charm.  She truly is incredible.

I am so fortunate to have such an amazing role model, mentor, and (most importantly) friend to guide me through the adventures of motherhood.

You truly are the best, Mom.

Happy Mother's Day!

How many more of these do we have to endure? . . . Mommy is buying stock in baby orajel.

Big Girl Friend!

Hazel has found a fellow Princess to show her the ropes.
I love this picture!  I swear they like each other!

That's better!

Princess Anya just turned three!  Yep, Hazel is running with an older crowd these days.  She's growing up so fast!
