Aloha tenenbaum

Hazel is having a tough time deciding on the perfect tree.

She and Papi found it!

The Grinch must have made a recent trip to Hawaii, because the entire state is suffering from a Christmas tree shortage. Fortunately we were able to nab an awesome tree at the only Christmas tree farm in the state. The trees are actually Norfolk pines which resemble lego trees and are very fun and whimsical! It's so nice to where shorts and tee shirts to mill around looking for the perfect tree. Unfortunately for the menfolk, that means that there is no cold to rush us along!

We scoured the farm and eventually found a perfect Christmas tree. We got a huge ten foot tree to make up for the two Christmases that Daddio missed!

Holiday Fashion Show

Earlier this month, Hazel was asked to be in the Children's fashion show at Nordstroms in Honolulu. She was very excited and practiced her twirl for days beforehand. Once the time came, she was far more interested in the huge lollipop from Auntie Sharon than showing off her little bubble dress. Here she is strutting down the runway!

Candy & Toys

Hazel is soooo excited for Christmas this year! She helped Mommy decorate the house and directed Daddy where to hang the lights. As we drive along she points out everything "Chwistmas" and loves all of the lights. But the coolest thing is that she finally understands Santa!

December 3rd was the Schofield Barracks Christmas Tree lighting. In addition to the humungous tree lighting, Santa rides in on a fire truck and asks all of the kids what they want for Christmas. We braved the rain (yes, we are total wimps and thought it was cold at 70 degrees) and waited in line to sit on Santa's lap.

Mommy was skeptical after last year's Breakfast with Santa when Hazel clawed up to my shoulders to avoid sitting on Santa's lap alone. But, this year, she was literally jumping with joy and shouting "MY SANTA! MY SANTA" when it was her turn. She strode up to Saint Nick all alone and full of confidence.

She hopped up on to his lap and when he asked what she wanted for Christmas, she swiftly replied "candy and toys, please."

Hazel's First Football Game

Hazel attended her first tailgate party and football game this Saturday. She had a blast! She got to run around with all of her buddies, swing at a pinata, binge on candy, and cheer like a maniac at the game!

Princess Hazelbot is a great helper the Thanksgiving! Only a few more hours until we eat!
Break time with Strong Papi! Yo Gabba Gabba was a huge hit during the Macy's Day parade!

Bop and Haze making vegetarian stuffing! Yummy!

Together again!

Today we are thankful that our little family is back together again! We are truly thankful for all of our family and friends that provided us with so much love and support during our deployments, both at home and abroad. We love you!

Sorry we took such a long hiatus from blogging! We are back in business, so please keep checking in to find out what new adventures we are embarking on!

Birthday Fun!

On September 19th, Hazel turned 2!! We didn't have a blow out, because the big party will be in Washington DC on October 3rd, when we see Mommy, Didden, Bob, and Nana!!  For a not blow out, Hazel got a bunch of presents.  More to follow on the opening and cake eating!!

It was Hazel's birthday, though, and we went to her favorite place--the Zoo.  If you ask, Hazel will tell you that she, "See a peacock."  He's the proof.

"I pet a goat!!"

The little fellow scared the crap out of Hazel.  He swooped down from his tree and chirped at Hazel.  After a while, she got friendly.

Bishop Museum

A couple of weeks ago, Hazel and Daddy-o went to the Bishop Museum (Hawaii's Natural History Museum).  We got to dress up like invasive species.  Here's H as a moth.

Just like her Mommy, Hazel loved this tree house.

Hazel looking like an angry ant.

Volcano!!

Hazel, do you want to see buggies?

Pool Fun

She was doing a better job than the actual life guards (Bop!)

Still Famous!

Another Mommy article just hit the streets.  Check it out here:  http://www.starbulletin.com/news/20090825_On_the_run.html

Or you can read the online comment that pretty much wraps it up.  This is what screen name "Waikiki Local" said:

"Beautiful, smart, a mom, goal oriented, family oriented, serving our country, helping others become better soldiers and runners? Damnnnnnnnnn a whole package! What a babe! Captain Chris C., you are one helluva lucky man! Great story, she motivates the hell out of me! Thank you BOTH for serving our country!"
Getting Creative

Eating healthy food just isn't as fun as when I was 1.5.  Now that I am almost 2, Daddyo has to get creative.  This morning, I had breakfast with piggie and birdie.  Here I am feeding eggs to birdie.  Daddy told me that was sick, but I didn't get it.
