Hazel said Mama!

Hbot said "mama" yesterday! I was holding her and Kristen took her and then she looked right at me and said "mama!" We immediately sprinted upstairs with Hazel to tell Toots and Strong Papi. Everyone was cheering-- it was so awesome!

*Update* She said it again tonight!

Monkeybot Tries Big Girl Food

Hbot had her first nibble of people food. It's a clementine. I don't think she liked it. I think we'll stick with milk for now.

Hazel's First Christmas

Merry Christmas!

Hazel had a hard time falling asleep last night because Auntie Brooke told her all about Santa. The jury was out on whether she made the nice list this year, so she was tossing and turning all night. But in the morning when we crept downstairs there was no doubt that Santa came and he definitely hadn't left coal. Hazel had a zillion presents, but was really sleepy and didn't want to wake up, so mommy had to help her open them. She got tons of books, toys, clothes, shoes, and even a new running stroller! I can't wait to try it out!

Daddy called after we finished with presents and got to wish us a Merry Christmas. It was so nice to hear from him! He is doing well and got to have an awesome Christmas dinner in the DFAC. He should have internet in his room soon, which will definitely be a great belated Christmas gift!

Great Gramma Hazel, Grampie, and Nana Calway called from the Boston and got to wish little Hazel a Merry Christmas too! We were so happy to hear from them and the whole family in Boston! Once we figure out how to put video on here we can show her opening her adorable Christmas gifts from them!

After an awesome Christmas morning we went down to the North Shore and had lunch at the Grass Skirt Grill with Johnny, Bonnie, HB, and the Myers Ohana. It was fabulous, as usual. Then we hit the beach with full bellies and caught some surf at Puaena Point.

We finally made it back to my parents house to chill out and play with all of our Christmas loot. We miss Daddy so much, but were very blessed to have such a Merry Christmas.

Birthday Girl!

Khloe made it! She defied the odds and turned 14 today! I still remember the day my parents surprised me with her at a track meet in third grade. She was the cutest, softest puppy in the world. She used to love going up to the woods for a long run and would smoke me every time. Now she can't hear anything and hobbles around the block for a nightly walk. I'm glad she made it another year! Happy Birthday, Khloe!

A shout-out to her cousin Tyr, I hope Tripod is feeling well and has a Merry Christmas!

Christmas Party Madness!

My parents had their Christmas Party last night. It was so much fun. One minute the house was empty and we were finishing up the food and the next minute the entire house was packed to the brim with friends. Everyone was wearing red and green and the whole house was warm with Christmas cheer. Hazel was being passed around like a hot potato and was such a good girl. We all had a blast and after the last person left we all collapsed in the living room and didn't budge until 9am.

Hazel meets Santa!

We went to my work Christmas party yesterday and had tons of fun. There were lots of babies and kids everywhere! Hazel wore her sexy halter top to show off her toned shoulders (she's been workin on her fitness). It was def a hit :)

Hazel got to meet Santa for the first time and got tangled in his beard. She's getting a little too good at posing for the camera . .. I think we have a mini-diva here. I told her to ask Santa for a Bentley and Diamonds, but she had some trouble saying it so I asked for her-- we'll be checking under the tree come Christmas morn.

We Miss Daddy

This is the last picture of Chris and Hazel together before he left. That was a really hard day. It's been two weeks since Chris left. We've been very fortunate to be able to talk to him almost everyday and we have even skyped a few times. Hazel loves watching her Daddy on the computer.

We're also really lucky to have the help of my awesome family everyday. I don't know how I could do it without them.

Chris and his guys are doing well. They are looking forward to getting mail once they settle down. He said they really want cookies and other non-melty treats. He is able to receive mail on the 1st of January, so start packing boxes!

Here's his mailing address:

The Poosploder

"What a sweet picture!" you say. Just scroll down.

That's where it gets ugly. Of course we were getting ready for a party and we were already running late. Of course she had just had a bath and was all clean. Of course she was in her new I heart Daddy onesie.

Yep. The little monkey exploded out of every possible diaper hole--very impressive. I think it's time to move up to the next size.

happy marathon!

I love marathons. I'm sure I wouldn't have said that when I was hating myself at mile 19, but now I love them again. I wanted to run under 3:45 and I ran a 3:38, so I am happy. I ran the Honolulu marathon on 9 December. I didn't really train at all before the race because of Hazel arriving and Chris leaving. I just didn't have time to go for 2 hour runs. I did run 11 miles the week before the marathon, which was my deciding run. I felt great, so I ran. I am so excited to actually train and run the Boston.

What a night

We had a crazy night tonight. Let me just preface it by saying that Hazel is okay. We got into a car accident tonight. We were going to Pearl Ridge Mall to shop and have dinner, just The girls and I (my parents were at a party). Anyway, it was rainy and Kristen was driving, we were all in the SUV. Well, we went to turn right at the mall, and the guy in front of us stopped for a child in the crosswalk. Naturally, we stopped too, not abruptly; the guy behind, however did not and came smashed into us. It really wasn't that bad. I was in the back with Hazel and it was just a jolt. She was sleeping and woke up crying, but she didn't fly forward or anything. I was so freaked out. I didn't want anything to happen to monkey. I took her out of the seat and out of the car and walked around and she was okay. I was so scared.

The bumper of the mercedes got kind of messed up, but the other car was trashed. The whole front was crunched in. I am so glad we were in the SUV, I guess my dad was right. I don't even want to think about what could have happened in Murphy (the bug). Even the police man was impressed with how solid it was.

The situation was really strange. We called the police, and the guy that hit us just like got out of the car and didn't say a word. Then this lady came from a car parked across the street, who I guess was his girlfriend or something. Anyway, she asked to just settle it and I said no way. Then when the police got there they asked for each of the driver's licenses and registration, etc. Well, she went to give the policeman her stuff and Kristen called her out. Because HE was driving, not her--she wasn't even in the car! Well, the guy didn't even HAVE a license! Yeah, the douche bag was driving around in her car without a freaking license!

So, while we were waiting for the cops to write up the report, we finally got ahold of my mom and dad and they headed our way. They pulled up and helped us out and we decided to just go to the mall. Well, my dad just left my mom with us because he was in uniform. We went in by Moe's and got a call from my dad like immediately after we stepped in--my dad had just been hit in the brand new car! Mom and Kristen took off in the car to help him and left us there, but Brooke, Hazel and I ran down to where he was (Chilli's intersection) because we didn't know if he was okay, or how bad it was.

I guess there is just a dent in the bumper, but how freaking crazy is that?! Two accidents in one night! It was awful!

I am so tired. I need to go to bed. What a day.

Hazel the Elf

These are some of my favorite pictures ever! Thanks to Aunty KB, who just got here on Sunday, we got some awesome pictures of Hazel the Elf. Check out her little milk tongue! Isn't that hat ridiculous?!
