Aloha tenenbaum

Hazel is having a tough time deciding on the perfect tree.

She and Papi found it!
The Grinch must have made a recent trip to Hawaii, because the entire state is suffering from a Christmas tree shortage. Fortunately we were able to nab an awesome tree at the only Christmas tree farm in the state. The trees are actually Norfolk pines which resemble lego trees and are very fun and whimsical! It's so nice to where shorts and tee shirts to mill around looking for the perfect tree. Unfortunately for the menfolk, that means that there is no cold to rush us along!
We scoured the farm and eventually found a perfect Christmas tree. We got a huge ten foot tree to make up for the two Christmases that Daddio missed!

Holiday Fashion Show
Earlier this month, Hazel was asked to be in the Children's fashion show at Nordstroms in Honolulu. She was very excited and practiced her twirl for days beforehand. Once the time came, she was far more interested in the huge lollipop from Auntie Sharon than showing off her little bubble dress. Here she is strutting down the runway!

Candy & Toys
Hazel is soooo excited for Christmas this year! She helped Mommy decorate the house and directed Daddy where to hang the lights. As we drive along she points out everything "Chwistmas" and loves all of the lights. But the coolest thing is that she finally understands Santa!
December 3rd was the Schofield Barracks Christmas Tree lighting. In addition to the humungous tree lighting, Santa rides in on a fire truck and asks all of the kids what they want for Christmas. We braved the rain (yes, we are total wimps and thought it was cold at 70 degrees) and waited in line to sit on Santa's lap.
Mommy was skeptical after last year's Breakfast with Santa when Hazel clawed up to my shoulders to avoid sitting on Santa's lap alone. But, this year, she was literally jumping with joy and shouting "MY SANTA! MY SANTA" when it was her turn. She strode up to Saint Nick all alone and full of confidence.

She hopped up on to his lap and when he asked what she wanted for Christmas, she swiftly replied "candy and toys, please."
