Rain Day

I'll never forget the anticipation of a snow day:  sleepless nights filled with vision of snowflakes and sleds, itchy pajama tags in the front, and foggy breath clouding the view of the omniscient window panes.

A part of me always felt bad for the poor kids growing up in paradise; never understanding those hopeful sleepless nights.  That is until yesterday when had a RAIN DAY!

We received 14.5 inches of rain in one day!  Hazel's school was cancelled and Mommy didn't have to work!  Toots' house had about a three foot moat and cars we getting stuck all over the place.
Hazel and I took advantage of the time and tapped into our inner elves.  We made hand-painted eco-friendly wrapping paper

We decorated the tree

And we made Christmas cookies!

It was still raining today during the Haleiwa Parade!   It was still a good time, just a bit damp and kind of scary--there was even lightning and thunder (we never get that here)!
