Deck the Halls

The lights are out and the tree is up, at least in some very motivated homes. I, however, am still dreading the trip to the attic.

We did attend our first Christmas event today: the Tree Lighting at Schofield. H loved the lights and the tunes, and even decided to wander off during the ceremony to show off her moves to everyone!

The moves (I wish I had the vid cam!).

Hazel checks out the bulb.

Hazel eats the bulb.

Hazel meets the reindeer.

H requests a reindeer.

Mingling with Mommy.

Surprise visit from her buddies!

Hanging with the boys.

Unfortunately it wasn't all fun and games, as we had to say goodbye to three of her best buddies. Carlos, Hazel's first bff and his daughter Karely, her very first babysitter, came for one last hug before they move to Puerto Rico permanently. H is really going to miss the deep conversations--I have never seen such a tough guy melt like that for a baby! K, keep studying hard and running, please let me know if you need anything at all. We love your family and we will miss your company. Stay in touch!

Auntie Gina also had to go home to California tonight. We had such a great time with her! Hazel warmed up to Gina very quickly and shortly thereafter was completely attached. I mean like not-crying-when-mommy-leaves attached! Gina, we are so glad you came to visit! We were so happy to be able to welcome you back to your pseudo-home after a year in the sandbox! We hope you have an awesome time with the Viselli fam! Oh yeah, and Hazel is waiting for her G bear :)

A rare pause, possibly to reflect that Daddy has been gone for exactly 365 long days.
