That's determination right there . . .

. . . the beautiful Capitol.I was selected to run for the All- Army Marathon Team this year. The big event for the team is the Marine Corps Marathon, which was just a couple of weeks after the Army Ten Miler and only ONE week after the Ironman. So, I had to make a big decision, and I opted not to do the Ironman this year. I was a little bummed, but I did not train enough for the Ironman and I knew I would do well in the marathon. Also, I could hardly pass up the opportunity to represent the entire Army in the greatest sport ever.
I ran my fastest marathon yet, a 3:05, making me the Fastest Female Marathoner in the Army! Needless to say, I am very happy with my decision!
It was a tough race, but the route was awesome; it wound around Georgetown, the Jefferson Monument, the Washington Monument, the Capitol, the Pentagon, and finished at the Iwo Jima Statue in Arlington Cemetary(26.2 miles is a long way). All along the route there where HUGE crowds everyone cheered "Go ARMY!" as I ran past. It was truly inspiring to represent the Army and have the support of complete strangers.
Next up, the Honolulu Marathon. I am going to shatter this personal record.
PS. Yes, I am too cheap to buy the pics, so you have to deal with the "PROOF" stretching across the picture!

DANG! You GO GIRL! I am amazed at your abilities and talent. You are truly inspiring. That sounds like an awesome run. I LOVE DC, glad they made you finish at Iwo Jima, I think it's almost my favorite monument. Love you!
Congratulations! I still hate that you run faster than me, though.
Kelly! Congratulations on being on the All Army Team! I think you made a great decision, but am also excited for you to do your first Ironman. Keep up the hard work. You're making the Army proud! Sorry to see that your dad is deployed now too! I'll keep both the men in your life in my thoughts and prayers.
You make it look so easy. Look at those legs ...if only mine. :)
