Leaving Home

I'm adding this from Atlanta on my way back to Iraq. I had a great time with Hazel and Kelly in Hawaii. Seeing Hazel was incredible. Over the two weeks, Hazel really warmed up to me and was asking for "Dada" often by the time I left. I couldn't believe how smart she is. It seemed like she was always curious and trying to understand the way the world works. Even over the 18 days, she seemed to learn all kinds of new skills. She was making fewer animal type noises, and more one syllable people noises. She learned how to make a kissy sound and she can answer the question, "What do doggies say?" It was amazing. The biggest mystery is what color Hazel's eyes are. We think they are green, hazel or gray; maybe Kelly can add a post and we can get some feedback. Whatever the color, they are beautiful.

I can't wait to come back again (Feb or Mar) and be back with Kelly and Hazel for good--and hopefully take Hazel to see the mainland!! Thanks for all the packages and emails. I can't wait to see everyone again.
